Winter visitors

The winter of 2021 was spent mostly at home with ocassionaly trips to go search for sea smoke on negative temperature mornings.

I have this ridiculous full ski suit from the 80s I wear on those days and stay toasty warm.

I saw a lot of birds in the lilac trees next to my back door and pulled out a thin, old, yellowed bird Identification book I had and started practicing. A few of my favorites are pictures below. .

They have interesting behavior and personalities. Some residents are year round, like the Bluejays, tufted titmice, and cardinals. Others arrived in spring and summer like the ruby throated hummingbird, the marvelous orioles, and indigo bunting.

There are jewels of the woods, and I love adding species to my list. We are up to 45 as of today.
